Iwamura Castle Town Hinamatsuri Doll Festival
See the spectacular sight of over 3,500 different types of colorful, ceremonial Hina festival dolls displayed in around 100 locations throughout the ancient castle town, including samurai era townhouses, shops, and private homes facing the traditional streets of Iwamura.
The historic Hina dolls associated with the Iwamura feudal lord’s residence passed down since the early 18th century to mid-19th century Edo period are also exhibited. Enjoy a wide range of traditional Japanese Hina dolls, ceramic and clay dolls, delicate Hina dolls made from durable Mino washi paper boasting over 1,300 years of history and tradition, and gorgeous displays of the many tiered Hina festival dolls.
